Larry Kelly

Larry first discovered archery in 1984 and quickly realized that this was the sport for him. After just one year of training he competed in the Alberta Summer Games in Fort McMurray and won two gold medals.

Inspired by his early success he went on to compete in the recurve division, and enjoyed successes that included gold medals in numerous provincial and national championships, and years of enjoyment from the sport. Larry remains an active competitive archer and is looking forward to the next season.

In 1986 Larry began coaching and instructed all age groups from beginners through to competitive archers. He achieved level III of the National Coaching Certification Program in 1995.

His coaching achievements include:

  • Coach for Team Alberta at 1995 Western Canada Summer Games
  • Coached or managed teams for Alberta Winter Games
  • Alberta team leader for National Championships
  • Coach for Team Alberta at 2003 Western Canada Games
  • Coach/team leader for the Canadian team in the Championships of the Americas in Venezuela 2004

Pauls enthusiasm for the sport has increased interest and membership in the club and its development.

Paul has recently begun the process of developing his coaching skills and was instrumental in developing a summer drop-in program at the club. This enabled over 250 first time shooters to discover the sport of archery.

Pauls competitions include but are not limited to:
